What is Poke??
Poke (pronounced "pokay") originated in Hawaii. In Hawaiian, the word "poke" means "to slice" or "to cut crosswise". Poke began as a snack for fishermen, made using the cut-offs from their catch. The present form of poke became popular in the early 70's. Today, it can be found in restaurants worldwide.
